Happy Monday!!! First of all, I want to start off by saying that it has been a while since I put up a New York and Company post. Of course, the month of October and the beginning of November was a very active month for #teampriiincesss. We experienced a lot, did a lot, but we are back harder and strong giving you guys the beloved New York & Company style challenge. And this month I chose to go to business casual.
But before I get into all of that. Let me introduce the team to y’all. I speak about them all the time but now for the first time, I get to share them with yall. In the middle is our lady girl boss Princess from priiincesss.com and my girl Dani from IamDaniSmith. Both amazing women who are not only working together to provide opportunities for other amazing women of color. But they both run photography businesses. Check them out not to just see how great they are but also to check out their New York & Company style challenge looks.
By the way if you are new to embracingnelle and have not caught up with the New York and Company style challenge check them out here. Now that you have caught up let’s dive into the New York & Company challenge fall business casual look.
This month is special not only because it is my birthday month but because I got to chose my own print from New York and Company. And yes I went straight to the skirt section and choose this beautiful number. My homegirl was jealous because she had her eyes on it. But it is not beneath me to fight a girl for my fashion. Thank God we did not have to fight because I definitely called girl code: I saw it first. Because the code is the bible she relented.
Beauty has so many forms, and I think the most beautiful thing is confidence and loving yourself.
The skirt I am wearing for this challenge is the New York and Company mixed print full wrap skirt. It was light and flowy. Wrapping around my small waist perfectly. There is a button at the waist for added support. Unlike most wrap skirts I did not have to guess how to close it the button in the middle was positioned in the right place giving me the snug look that I was going for.
In the end, this skirt is one that is perfect for the office on those cool fall days where you want to show off but yet stay warm. I don’t believe in sacrificing fashion for the weather and this skirt is right for that. It is a skirt that you can wear on its own or you can pair it with a blazer as I did. No matter how you choose to express yourself in this skirt I encourage you to shine. Remember style is an expression of who you are. It tells the world a story about you.
