It’s that time of the month again. You know what I am talking about. The time of the month where Team Princess brings you the New York and Company Monthly Style Challenge. Check out the team i.ampriiincesss and Dani Smith. And this time it’s Airport look number two.
I’m actually excited to share this look with you guys. Because it is a look outside of my comfort zone. I a modest woman. To that doesn’t mean that I don’t wear pants. It just means that I don’t necessarily enjoy wearing them. Don’t worry I will talk about modesty and explain it to you guys later.
But for right now I am talking about my lack of pants. The only pants I wear are workout pants. I am even fading these out in my modesty journey.
So you guys could imagine my lack of enthusiasm, surprise, and reluctant when the piece chosen for the New York and Company Monthly Style Challenge: Airport look # 2, was a pair of shorts.
That look pushed my boundaries and really took me out of my comfort zone. I haven’t worn a pair of shorts in 7 years. Now I was expected to go to the airport a super public place with shorts on. YIKES!!!
Nonetheless, I am one who practices what I preach. So, I called my stylist/photographer. She is not official, but she does good work. And pitched her the idea. (By the way, check out her store Gorgess Boutique. She has some amazing head wraps.) She was shocked but agreed to go with the look.
New York and Company Monthly Style Challenge: Looking stylish
The question was asked, “how can I look stylish while traveling.” Well, the answer is here, look no further because these 6 Inch Maddie Short-Floral and Dot Print from 7th Avenue collection is it.
They are 6 inches so they are not too short. One thing I hate is when wearing shorts and you can see everything I am working with. But these shorts are 6 inches. I did not feel like I was selling my body. I felt like my body was covered. Most importantly it was stylish.
The color, the patterns, and the fit were superior. As a modest girl, I like to look stylish while remembering who I am, and these shorts made me feel that way.
How To Pair It.
The second thing that I liked about these shorts is that it was not difficult to pair them. You ever bought a piece of clothing and have difficulty putting an outfit together with it? If you answered yes to that question, I know how you feel. The frustration alone is enough to drive you crazy.
You will not have this problem with these shorts. Honestly, I simply got a white t-shirt from Ross. That’s all I did. It was not difficult and the outfit came out great in my opinion. I did not feel like I was wearing too much. Or like I was doing too much.
I threw on a pair of short brown chunky heel. Mainly, because if you read my first article Airport Fashion: All You Need To Know About It + Style Challenge. Then you will know that the first rule of being stylish in the airport is being comfortable. I don’t remember where I got them from but I will link an amazon link where you can buy them.
As a modest girl who took a chance and stepped out of my comfort zone. I really like the shorts. Would I wear shorts again? Maybe not for a while.
To be completely transparent, shorts are not my thing, but I did enjoy these shorts. If you are a modest girl who wears shorts then I recommend these to you. They are comfortable lightweight, and the material is not the kind of material that will mess up after one wash.
I did, however, have to buy them two sizes bigger. I don’t know if it was because of my thighs, or my butt. Just be aware that you might have to go sizes up.
There you have it folks until next time. The New York and Company Monthly Style Challenge: Airport look #2 is finally over. I wonder what look 3 will be?
