Yes! It did happen. If you read the title of this post Life update: I Had The Coronavirus. Then yes, I got the Corona Virus and it was the worst two weeks ever. But Let me start from the beginning. Let me be the first to admit this pandemic has done a number on me.
I have dealt with debilitating depression, overwhelming anxiety and the last thing I wanted was to actually catch the coronavirus. But of course, if it would happen to anyone it was going to happen to me and it did. So, welcome to my life update: I Had The Coronavirus.
Life was getting better for me. I was getting over my depression and anxiety and I had planned an awesome trip to Tallahassee during the fourth of July weekend. It was a long weekend and I did not want to waste it. However, life started to get funny when my body started hurting, and headaches took over my life.
The thing is the coronavirus was the furthest thing from my mind. Mainly because my period came around the same time my symptoms started. Of course, I thought I was having the worst period of my life.
Boy was I wrong. Stubborn as I was and thinking my period was trying to kill me. I got in my car and headed on my trip. The trip was awesome and while I was having the time of my life my symptoms got worst. Finally, I came to the conclusion that I might be sick. With the last ounce of energy, I possessed. I drove home after a weekend of fun and headed to the testing site. And low and behold the test came back positive for COVID-19. To make matters worst I get home to find my mother in her bed experiencing the same symptoms.
Yup, my mother had it, and then everything made sense. She had the symptoms and did not say anything. Then, the next thing I knew I got it from her. Now both of us are home super sick. The first couple of days all I had was just regular flu-like symptoms. Headache, body ache, and excessive tiredness.Eventually, all good things must come to an end. My body aches and headaches left me and were replaced with shortness of breath. That had to be the scariest part of having this virus. I found myself gasping for air and praying to God that I survive.
Admittedly, I was very worried. I thought I was going to end up in the hospital.
With all said and done. I thank God for his breath every morning. Because now simply breathing has become a joy for me. During the whole ordeal, I did lose my sense of smell and honestly, I still don’t know if It is completely back. It’s all a guessing game for me. But my breathing is back and that’s all that matters.
This is all folks, yes, I am doing better and have fully recovered. COVID-19 is not a joke and is something that I don’t wish on my worst enemy. Thank God I made it through and I am able to share the experience with y’all. This has been my Life Update: I Had The Coronavirus.
By the way my mom also fully recovered and my dad did not catch it from us (that blessed bastard).
