How To Be Covered In An Emergency while Traveling

Check, it out I am very proud of my work.  I don’t know about you but I am ready for the weekend. This week I learned some valuable infomratuon. Infomration that i feel like you guys should know. And its all about how to get help if you find yourself in an emergency while traveling. 

We live in a world that is constantly changing. Danger at every corner. It is so common for us now to hear of a natural disaster takng place in a random country. Wars are being foouhgt, people are blowing themselves up. And while the world is turning to dodo we are traveling more and more. Making our world constantly getting smaller. 

With all that being said we can travel and think our vacatioon is going so well. Then we find ourselves in an emergency and we have no idea what to do. Like i said don’t worry i knwo what to do. Becuase i kknow what to do you will too. 

DMV 

Did you know that the department of motor vehicles or DMV has an emergency contact section on their website. I didn’t and I’m sure you didn’t either. This emergency contact section is only available to law enforcement. That means others do not have access to it. 

All you need to do is go to the DMV website of your state and register an emergency contact. This person will be contacted and told about your whereabouts and condition. This is a free service that the DMV offers to help. So take advantage of it. Especially if you are a Solo traveler. 

Smart Traveling Enrollment Program

The next thing I want to share with you is the smart traveling enrolment program or step program provided by the US government. This is for my international travelers. God forbid something were to happen to you on your travels. But have no fear America’s federal government will be watching out for you. 

The STEP program is a fee to enroll in. As a United States (US) citizen and national you have the opportunity to enroll yourself and your trip to the US embassy near you.

This way you receive information from the embassy regarding any safety concerns about the country you are traveling to. This way you have the opportunity to make an informed decision when it comes to your travel plans. 

The program also helps the US Embassy reach you if you happen to have an emergency while traveling in your destination country. These are the emergencies that we hear about nowadays.

Those natural disasters, civil unrest, and even family emergency. All this is free and offered to you as a resident of the US. 

There you have it folks the two most important programs you need to know about while traveling. They have been established to help us, travelers, when we are in need.
